 <p class=\\"rteleft\\"><strong>Portia Sinnott\,</strong> sustainability consultant\, waste management specialist\, community activist\, and transportation extraordinaire\, has always said that time management and planning priorities are significant to transportation use.  So we are going to spend our morning doing several exercises on personal development and the identification of belief systems and values\, which drive decisions\, planning\, etc. and talk about how to makes changes\, manage time and prioritize our life\, based from those we design.</p>

 <p class=\\"rteleft\\"><strong>Sammy Nas</strong>r - <em>Co-Founder and Program Director of Lite Initiatives</em></p>
 <p class=\\"rteleft\\">The mission of Lite Initiative is to motivate individuals\, groups\, businesses and even whole communities to live lightly and more sustainably.   Their four programs are Car-Lite\, Community Bikes\, Zero Waste\, Sonoma County and Living Green\, all promote safety\, sharing and the development of DIY - Do It Your Self skills.</p>

 <p class=\\"rteleft\\">* Car-Lite principles of walk\, bike\, carpool\, car-share\, transit - and how they apply<br />

 * Emergency transportation options<br />
 * Increasing fuel efficiency in vehicles<br />

 * Working with cities (car-free day\, etc.)<br />
 * Improving public transit service<br />
 * Insurance and other issues</p>

 <p class=\\"rteleft\\">Driving West on Highway 12 to Sebastopol <br />
 After passing a gas station on the right\, and driving over the Laguna de Santa Rosa watershed\, you will come to the first of 4 signal lights\, as you continue West on Bodega Avenue (Highway 12).  The first one is at Morris Street.  The second and third ones are at the central town intersections\, which first cross one-way traffic heading North (to the right) on 116\, and the second crossing one-way traffic heading South (to the left) on 116.  Continue driving straight forward (West) passing all the lights and intersections.  You will drive 3 blocks\, High\, Florence and Dutton.  The final signal light is at Dutton\, the street on your right.  You will be in front of the fire station\, on your left.  There is another street just on your left (Jewell).  </p>
 <p>Continue driving forward (West).  You will pass 1 street on your right (Washington)\, and the road will begin to the right.  The next street is <br />
 Robinson.  Robinson will be on your left.  </p>
 <p>Make a left at Robinson.  St Stephens is at 500 Robinson\, and will be on the right-hand side of the street.  See you there.  Call 477-4564\, if you should have any problems with directions.</p>

 <p class=\\"rteleft\\"><strong>About the Program\:<br />
 </strong>The Model of Transition for Sustainable Living (MTSL) program consists of twelve modules&mdash\;one of which will be covered each month in 2011.  Together they will provide an overall perspective on current thinking and technology\, as well as practical skills for everyday sustainable living.  The MTSL program includes a Workbook/Planner\, a Reader\, a Resource Directory\, a Journal\, and a series of Visual Aides.</p>
 <p class=\\"rteleft\\">The program has been designed to work in concert with local participating businesses and organizations.  The mission of the program is to empower you to act\; to transition you from wherever you are today\, to a lifestyle that is highly sustainable\, within the one-year time period of the course.  Therefore\, the program consists of 20% theory and 80% practical application.</p>
 <p class=\\"rteleft\\">The course\, if completed\, will\:</p>
 <p class=\\"rteleft\\">&middot\;          dramatically lower your carbon emissions<br />
 &middot\;          save you money on utilities<br />
 &middot\;          reduce your demand on resources<br />
 &middot\;          assist you in becoming more socially responsible<br />
 &middot\;          help you to become a steward of the environment.</p>
