Save the date! 9/11 Special Meditation Program 9/11 marks the anniversary of a tragic and terrifying event. Let it now be an opportunity and reminder for us to go within. We will spend the afternoon in meditations for strengthening our inner ability to meet the craziness of the world with renewed presence, forgiveness and love. In this way, we truly build in ourselves an ability to meet the challenges and chaos of the world around us, as well as experience more joy. In this way, we feel the tangible effects of the real resilience that we need to live in these times. Sebastopol location TBA Monday September 12, 2011
Start: Sep 12 2011 8:00 am
End: Sep 12 2011 9:00 am

The suggested donation for this event is $10 but we are grateful for any amount, larger or smaller. Descripton:Join us for an insightful conversation with Rob Hopkins, author, Permaculturist and founder of the Transition Towns Movement. In this conversation we will be asking Rob to go more deeply into the "ingredients of Transition" as well as answering questions supplied by participants. Transition US board member, author and visionary Vicki Robin will be the host for this call. In July our call with Rob, hosted by Richard Heinberg has been listened to by well over 1,000 people in just a few short weeks. If you have not heard that yet - listen to a recording of our last call with Rob here >>

A Wisdom Council Discussion Group of Transition Sebastopol
Calling All Elders, Earth Elders, Wannabe Elders, Soon-to-become Elders, or Interested Baby Boomers on up! The Elder Salon is a nonhierarchical circle of peers. We’ll introduce the discussion with some thoughts from an elder voice or thought-provoking instigator to kick off our own discovery of what it is WE think and believe about the topic; what WE want and need now and in our future; what WE think should be the course of action and attitudes as we progress into and through our older years WHY: There are a lot of new ideas about aging, staying youthful in body and spirit, and our role in society and local life. What have our generational contributions been and what is left undone? What are our mistakes and triumphs? The Elder Salon is a nonhierarchical circle of peers. We’ll introduce the discussion with some thoughts from an elder voice or thought-provoking instigator to kick off our own discovery of what it is WE think and believe about the topic; what WE want and need now and in our future; what WE think should be the course of action and attitudes as we progress into and through our older years Reminder to all: the Elders Salon is regular and ongoing on the fourth Thursday of each month.
