THIS MONTH’S THEME: “Winnowing and Essentializing”

The Elder Salon is a nonhierarchical circle of peers. We’ll introduce the discussion with some thoughts from an elder voice or thought-provoking instigator to kick off our own discovery of what it is WE think and believe about the topic; what WE want and need now and in our future; what WE think should be the course of action and attitudes as we progress into and through our older years

WHY: There are a lot of new ideas about aging, staying youthful in body and spirit, and our role in society and local life. What have our generational contributions been and what is left undone? What are our mistakes and triumphs?

The Elder Salon is a nonhierarchical circle of peers. Our January meeting on January 28th is going to be different than normal. We are going to the Scion Exchange hosted by the California Rare Fruit Growers.

Look for our table with seeds at the Scion Exchange from 10 to 4 at the Veterans Hall In Sebastopol, there is a $5 entry fee. There are grafting and pruning classes, root stock for sale and scion wood available.

Our Seed Library at St Stephen's Church ( will be open from 10 to 12 on Saturday January 28th. No class or work party that Saturday. We will return to our normal schedule of meeting the last Saturday of the month with a class and work party in February.

When: Thursday, February 2, 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: Dhyana Center Lofts, 186 North Main Street, Ste. 250., Sebastopol (Use entrance on Wilton Ave into Basso building. Dhyana Center is 2nd floor up elevator.)

Cost: $5 suggested donation for use of space. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Using world café methodology we will have collective discussion about the Heart & Soul in our community. By addressing key strategic questions, we will pinpoint our needs and potentials in this time of change to help us build our emotional, psychological, and spiritual resilience. All are welcome to participate in this collaborative dialogue helping unify our hearts and minds in an inspiring evening of community exchange and community building.
