On April Fools Day - Sunday, April 1, come to the Town Plaza car-free!

LITE Initiatives , Transition Sebastopol and the Sebastopol Farmers' Market invite you, your family and friends to travel by foot, skates, skateboard, bike or any other kind of human powered transit. Wear funny clothes, a “Car-Free Today!” note or some other kind of drive-less message.

Everyone who checks-in at the LITE Booth betweem 10am and 1pm will be entered in a raffle to win a $100 Community Bikes gift certificate as well as other prizes! You do not have to be present at 1pm.

Live out of town? Consider parking near a bike path and walking or biking in; carpooling is also an environmentally friendly option. Whatever your choice - be sure to make safety your top priority!

Want to help? Folks are invited to organize a downtown walk, a kid’s activity, or a critical mass bike ride. Contact Portia at lite@sonic.net .

Start: Apr 6 2012 3:30 pm

Friday afternoons at 3:30 at Coffee Catz, an informal gathering, usually outdoors, weather permitting. There has been a different assortment of folks at each one, usually 4 to 5 of us. We encourage you to try it some week.

Where: Coffee Catz, 6761 Sebastopol Avenue, Sebastopol

Drop in—arrival and departure times are loose.

First person there asks at the counter for the “Insurgent Elders” sign to put on the chosen table area so others can find you. You might check the far back room if the weather’s cold or wet and choose some shade if it’s warm outside. It’s possible no one would show up, but it hasn’t happened yet!

Transition Sebastopol and their new working group Catalyzing Intentional Communities and Neighborhoods cordially invite you to attend the very first community gathering of this kind.

Community means different things to different people. We are experiencing a tremendous surge in interest for creating communities of place. Members of our greater community are actively pursuing a more connected sustainable lifestyle by joining and/or creating community where they live, …sharing resources, time, and energy to create more resiliency on the home front.

We invite you to come, meet each other, and participate in a community-mapping event where we will be able to explore the possibilities.

When: Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 9-11am

Where:

St Stephens Church
500 Robinson Road
Sebastopol, CA 95472
